Author of the weblog - Bénédicte Halba, PhD in Economics, is the founding president of the Institute for Research and Information on Volunteering (iriv). She was a junior researcher at the Ministry of Youth and Sports (1991-1994), expert for the Council of Europe at two workshops - Economic impact of sport and Volunteering in Sport (1992-1994). She was part of the French delegation which prepared and organized the Informal Conference of Sports Ministers, in partnership with the Council of Europe’s Sport Steering Committee (Strasbourg, April 1994). She has dedicated her doctoral thesis to the Economics of sport, the first defended on this subject in Europe (University Paris I Panthéon Sorbonne, 1996). In 1997, she created the iriv. She is in charge of the studies & projects, training and designing of the many iriv's websites and weblogs. She has taught at the University since 2000 in France and Europe (Austria, UK...). Bénédicte has published several books (Documentation française, De Boeck, Larousse...), numerous articles or research reports (in connection with the more than 60 projects in which she participated). She is the editor and author of the electronic journal iriv les rives de l'iriv( since 2004), a Diversity Newsletter (since 2018) and a monthly newsletter in support of Ukraine (since March 2022). She has been a member of the board of several associations . She has been a member of the scientific committee of the Swiss ECAP foundation since 2015 and of the Association Committee of the Order of Chartered Accountants (OEC, Ile de France) since 2017. She initiated several actions in the field - with a migrant audience (Cité des Métiers 2012-2022) and with young people in Essonne (2013-2021). She was associated for ten years (2014-2024) with an international experiment on social and emotional skills .

Halba, docteure en Sciences économiques, est la présidente fondatrice
de l'Institut de recherche et d'information sur le volontariat (iriv). Elle a été chargée de mission au Ministère de la Jeunesse et des Sports (1991-1994), experte auprès du Conseil de l'Europe aux Ateliers Impact économique du sport et Volontariat/bénévolat (1992-1994).
Elle a fait partie de la délégation française qui a préparé et organisé
la Conférence informelle des Ministres des Sports, en partenariat avec
le Comité directuer du sport du Conseil de l'Europe (Strasbourg, avril
1994). Elle a consacré sa thèse de doctorat à l'économie du sport, la première soutenue sur ce sujet en Europe (Université Paris I Panthéon Sorbonne, 1996). Elle crée en 1997 l'iriv dont elle dirige les études, la formation et le développement des nombreux sites Internet et weblogs de l'iriv. Elle a enseigné à l'Université depuis
2000 en France et en Europe (Autriche, Royaume-Uni ...). Bénédicte a publié plusieurs ouvrages (Documentation française, De Boeck,
Larousse...), de très nombreux articles ou rapports de recherche (en
lien avec les plus de 60 projets auxquels elle a participé). Elle est éditrice et auteure de la revue électronique de l'iriv les rives de l'iriv (www.benevolat.net, depuis 2004), d'une Infolettre sur la diversité (www.superdiversite.net, depuis 2018) , d'une infolettre mensuelle en soutien à l'Ukraine (depuis mars 2022). Elle a été
administratice de plusieurs associations . Elle est membre du comité scientifique
de la fondation suisse ECAP
depuis 2015 et du Comité associations de l'Ordre des Experts comptables
(OEC, Ile de France) depuis 2017. Elle a initié plusieurs actions sur le terrain - auprès de publics migrants (Cité des Métiers 2012-2022) et
auprès des jeunes en Essonne (2013-2021). Elle a été associée pendant dix ans (2014-2024) à une expérimentation internationale sur les compétences sociales et émotionnelles .
